As parents we are always looking for the best ways to ensure our kids are happy and healthy. With growing bodies and growing minds, its vital that children consume the right foods for sustained energy and nutrition to help them thrive in learning environments. We gathered our favourite healthy back to school treats that your little ones will love seeing in their lunchboxes!

Healthy Chips

Whilst potato chips are traditionally not a healthy lunchbox treat, making your own is a great way to treat kids and provide a healthy alternative with reduced levels of sugar and saturated fats. Simply slice, season and bake at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

For an even healthier alternative why not try using carrots. With a healthy dose of vitamins A and C, carrots chips are a healthy and delicious treat that little ones will love!

Sliced Fruit

Super simple ideas are always great for busy parents who are looking for healthy snacks without the fuss of hours of preparation. Fresh fruit is always a brilliant source of vitamins for little ones, with the seasonality of many fruits making for a variety of yummy treats all year round.

Try cutting fruits into fun shapes with moulds such as stars and hearts. Kids will love being able to press these out themselves and then of course eating them at school!

Banana Muffins

Even the fussiest of eaters will love these healthy banana muffins! Deliciously moist, these muffins will keep for days making them ideal snack for the whole family. To make combine mashed banana, whole-wheat flour, rolled oats, honey, eggs and yoghurt into a large bowl and mix – kids will love helping with this part! Then simply distribute into a muffin tray and place in the oven at 180 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes.
